                      Welcome to Glendale Lutheran School

                      Picture
Our preschool through eighth grade students receive an excellent education in a Christ-centered environment. Our certificated teachers guide students in setting and meeting high expectations in all developmental areas: intellectual/academic, social, physical, emotional, and spiritual, using best practices aligned with current research about teaching, learning, and brain development.

                      Letter from the Principal

                      February Newsletter

                      Dear Families,

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1. Corinthians 13:13

Our students of all ages enjoy the time-honored tradition of exchanging cards on St. Valentine’s Day, with some children even using crayons, paper, and glue to create their special treasures. These gestures of love remind us of our Heavenly Father’s absolute and wonderful love for all of us. So often in the hustle and bustle of busy days at the school, I am gently reminded by Him to see everyone and all situations through His eyes of love. When we frame our interactions by love, every exchange is an opportunity to grow in our relationship with one another, and ultimately, with our Lord.

Our school community provides our students with a loving environment in which they feel safe to stretch and grow. Each of your children contributes to the culture of high expectations coupled with positive support, as they do their personal best and seek to help others to do their best, as well. Your partnership with our school makes this possible, as you willingly
talk with teachers and ensure that your children come to school ready to learn.

Within our nurturing school environment, your children’s bright minds engage with challenging activities. We know that real learning requires willingness to risk and change- and we also know that real learning requires a trusting and personalized education, provided by dedicated teachers who genuinely care about their students’ success.

Although our school already provides “excellence in a Christ-centered environment,” we are looking ahead to our future in
embarking on our ambitious 10 year strategic plan.  As we paint the future, we envision a school that continues to use
research-based practices, yet has grown to serve around 250 to 300 students and their families. We have identified the value in partnering with  local churches who value our school’s role and can commit to contributing and sharing in the good work happening here. We recognize the need to plan ahead for a larger facility on this campus, as we simultaneously continue to
focus on development of our programs in the arts, world languages, and technology. With the expansion to middle school, we look toward the addition of sports teams and other programs.

As this picture of the future continues to be developed and refined, we hope that you will share your wisdom and ideas. We have included a feedback form entitled “From Dream to Reality,” asking you to note your thoughts and send it back to school. We’ll continue to provide updates and  opportunities to share your thinking through school events and PTO meetings. I hope that you will also find a few minutes to chat with me about our collective dreams for Glendale Lutheran School. By God’s grace and through His divine guidance, we fulfill His purpose.

                      In His Service,
